Colombia - Gang member finds freedom

There is an external peace settling over Colombia as government and economic security continue to increase. Yet the challenge remains to bring peace into the lives of Colombia’s 40 million people wounded from crime and conflict.

In 2009, Colombian Christians, trained by Bible League established 61 churches throughout the country. Church planters like Caesar are grateful for their training.

“I know the realities of living in poverty,” says Caesar. “My alcoholic father became my enemy at a young age so I joined a gang. Over time, I was desperate for help.

"One night, a childhood friend prayed for me and gave me a Bible study booklet. For months we met in secret to study. Everything inside me began to change. I soon left the gang to follow Jesus Christ.

“I now have an unexplainable passion to preach! Thank you for this opportunity to serve God with my life and to plant a church in Colombia.”
